Summit Events And Hire Kerikeri And Northland NZ

Entries open 1st February 2020 and will close 31st May in order for us to order your Tee shirts in plenty of time. We will have  a pick up point for Tee shirt collection in Paihia and of course on the day for late comers. The shirts will be in different colors to reflect your distance.

Its a trail run/walk on the Oromahoe Traverse track which you can find at the end of School Road in Paihia. Choose from 4 km 8 km or 12km starting from the village green in the center of town and handy to the car park and toilets.
The 4km is on a wide and pretty flat tailored DOC path and takes you up to the Paihia lookout for some stunning views. The longer distances will have you turning left at a junction onto very different terrain and depending on the weather at the time possibly muddy and slippery with gnarly hills and rocks to guarantee a few spills....We will be starting you off in waves with the 12km guys heading off first @10am. What it lacks in distance it makes up for in toughness so don't be fooled.
Three hydration stations and first aid volunteers will be out on the course to keep you all safe but take your own drinks and food if you think you might need it. You will also be given a compostable cup made from wheat straw to carry on the trail for fill ups if you prefer as we will have no plastic cups out on the course.
This event will not be timed which will be reflected in its lower entry fees.  Every competitor will get a printed event T shirt to wear on the day and a native plant seedling at the end to either take home or gift back to local community groups to plant out for you.
There will be no prize giving at this event instead everyone will receive a discount voucher sheet to use at our numerous cafes bars and restaurants around town afterwards.
A massive thank you to the Department of Conservation for letting us use the track we will be working with them to ensure it is left as we found it.
